Viviane Anicka (32) has been suffering with fistula for 8 years, developed during childbirth.  Sadly her baby died and due to the smell of leaking urine and her innate shyness, Anicka isolated herself from her community, preferring to stay at home.

Anicka’s aunt, who lives in Tamatave, heard one of our recent radio announcements highlighting our work and invited Anicka to come for treatment.

Anicka’s family and in particular her husband have supported her throughout and their support gave her the confidence to make her way to our Fistula Care Centre.

We are overjoyed to say that Anicka is now healed and free from fistula.  She gave thanks to all of the FFF team, especially the surgeon and is now looking forward to returning home with hopes of having a baby in the future.
