Formation of Freedom From Fistula Foundation
 

Freedom From Fistula Foundation is the brainchild of Ann Gloag, co-founder of the transport group Stagecoach and former Businesswoman of the Year.

Through her support of Mercy Ships and visits to the fistula clinic in Sierra Leone, Ann became aware of the plight of millions of African women and became passionate about making a difference.

At the end of 2007, Ann Gloag brought together a group of women who spent the weekend talking about what could be done -  and the Freedom From Fistula Foundation was born.

The Foundation officially became a charity in April 2008.
