SPRING 2016 UPDATE
We have received thousands of squares since launching our Big Knit Challenge in 2014.
You have helped our patients create hundreds of blankets!
Over 8000 squares are currently in a container being shipped to Sierra Leone.
Several thousand more squares will be packed into the container that is going to Malawi in the next couple of months.

Help us to help them stitch their lives back together
Rehabilitation is an important part of the recovery process for our fistula patients.
To help women rebuild their lives after surgery, we offer a wide range of services and opportunities. At one end of the spectrum, we teach basic literacy and numeracy skills, handicrafts and help to build confidence, and at the other end we offer enterprise training and loan/saving/insurance facilities.
As part of our handicrafts training, some of our patients stitch together knitted squares to make blankets. This activity gives them something to do to fill their time as they recover and they also get the gift of a warm blanket to take home with them when they leave the hospital.
We have been so overwhelmed with your fantastic donations that we no longer require any 'fish and chip' jumpers, or knitted teddies, dolls, or balls.
Please keep on knitting the squares and baby jackets/cardigans from Prem Baby size up to 3 months size. THANK YOU!
We are limited with storage space and currently are unable to accept other items.
If you have other items to donate, please consider www.knitforpeace.org.uk
Huge thanks to everyone who has taken part in our Big Knit Challenge so far, your donations were greatly appreciated. Take a look through our Gallery to see wonderful examples of knitted squares, baby clothes and blankets sent to us from all over the UK
