In September 2007, a group of women in Scotland met up to discuss the plight of women in Africa suffering from obstetric fistula. Most of our group didn’t know anything about this condition when they arrived but all of them left committed to raising awareness - and our ’10 for 10’ idea was born.
’10 for 10’ is an awareness raising concept.
One woman invites ten women to an event – in her home, over a glass of wine after work, a sandwich lunch....whatever is easiest for her.
Each of these 10 women then agree to hold their own event and invite another 10 women....who then have an event and invite another 10 women...and so it goes on.
If everyone takes part, we will reach over one million women in the UK every year.
